the guy who wrote this letter is a specially trained officer in Nashville and this is the guy you have to go to to get a license to carry a gun.... this is the guy who puts you through the test and shows you how to handle a gun....
I wouldn't go to that BBQ place either now....I wouldn't feel safe at all.....I'd feel like a bird sitting on a fence........

> FRIENDS BELOW IS A LETTER WHICH I SENT TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND THE MAIN STORE OF A RESTAURANT THAT MY FAMILY AND I HAVE EAT AT FOR MANY YEARS. I AND THE TFA WOULD ENCOURAGE YOU TO KEEP US POSTED OF ANY "NEW" OR OLD PLACES THAT HAVE POSTED. IN THIS CASE I ALSO TOOK A PICTURE WITH MY CELL PHONE OF THE SIGN THAT WAS JUST VERY "RECENTLY" POSTED!
>
> I TOOK MY TIME IN WRITING THIS LETTER AND ALSO GOT SOME ADVICE FROM JOHN HARRIS AT THE TFA. I HAD TO COOL OFF WHEN I SAW THE SIGN BECAUSE THIS REALLY MAKES ME UPSET. THIS RESTAURANT ALSO DOES "NOT" SERVE ALCOHOL OR BEER.
>
> SO READ BELOW AND PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE ANY OF MY LETTER TO ANYONE THAT YOU FEEL NEEDS TO BE PUT ON NOTICE ABOUT THE POSTING LAWS!

> Sir,
>
> I have been a loyal customer of the Bar-B-Cutie restaurants for sixty two years, ever sine Mr. Lee had the Bar-B-Cutie on Murfreesboro Road and all the car hops wore the short skirts and delivered the orders on roller skates. My mom and dad took my brother and myself there almost every Friday or Saturday night.
>
> In the last two weeks alone I have spent over three hundred dollars there for Fathers Day food and Fourth of July food, and in the past it is no telling how much my wife and I have spent at your location for family night or lunch or dinner. We have also visited the Nolensville Road location when we are on that side of town. I enjoyed looking at the old pictures of the Murfreesboro Road location and the pictures did bring back a lot of memories of my family eating there.
>
> On the 4th of July I came in and ordered four Racks of Ribs and a pound of pulled pork and food was again outstanding as it has always been.
>
> I am sorry to say that neither I nor any of my family will be back on the property of the Donelson Pike location. I was very shocked to see the "NO GUNS" posting on all the doors when I came in on the 4th. As a retired Metro Officer I consider the fact that establishments have the right to not allow certain individuals in or on their controlled property, but since I retired I have had three times when I have had the need to be armed because others were acting aggressively toward me.
>
> By posting these signs you are also advertising that you nor anyone else in your place of business have any type of protection at all and you are also telling all the gang bangers, crooks, robbers and rapists that your place of business is now open season because your customers cannot protect ourselves and you are denying legal law abiding customers the right of protection.
>
> As a retired Metro Officer and a state and federal certified expert witness on use of force, firearms, self-defense and police and security policies, I am sure that there are plenty of people who will feel the same way as I do about the individual right of protection.
>
> I would encourage you to reconsider the posting that denies the honest law abiding people the right of self-defense. These people, some like me being retired law enforcement, go to classes that teach them the laws on carrying a gun; they take TBI/FBI background checks and are taught to use common sense. The robber, who will ignore your sign, has no training when they come in a wipe out the staff and customers just to have drug money (remember Paul Read for one).
> I must also tell you that I do respect your right to post your property denying those of us legally carrying a firearm to come into your restaurant to eat and I will fight and die for the right for you to be able to make that decision. So do not get me wrong, I am not one of those gun waving "this is my right" type of people, but I am one of those people that does believe in the right to be able to protect myself and my family in public, at home or anywhere else that crime may be that would endanger our safety. I am one of those who will not patronize a place that bans legal firearms carriers. I am one of those who will share this information with other gun owners so that they will also be aware.

> Just please remember that when seconds count the police are minutes away and what you do while awaiting their arrival may make the difference of living or dieing.
